Policy and warranty term

WARRANTY

This warranty applies to new Innertubes of various brands manufactured by Tortuga Produtos de Borracha Ltda., and distributed through our distributor network.

(1) Tortuga warrants its products as follows:
a. LEGAL WARRANTY – In accordance with the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code (Law No. 8,078 of September 11, 1990), a warranty period of ninety (90) days (three months) is granted from the date of purchase (upon presentation of the purchase invoice).
b. CONTRACTUAL WARRANTY
i. A period of five (5) years – applicable to Innertubes manufactured from Jan/2025 (DOT 0125), counted from the date of purchase (based on the date stated on the purchase invoice), against any manufacturing defects identified;
ii. For products manufactured up to December 2024 (DOT 5224), a period of three (3) years remains applicable, counted from the date of purchase (based on the date stated on the purchase invoice), against any manufacturing defects identified.
Important 01 – If the purchase invoice cannot be verified, the DOT code (stamped on the Innertube) shall be considered as the reference date for determining the five-year period mentioned in item 1.b – Contractual Warranty.
(2) This warranty does not cover damage resulting from accidental causes or improper use of the product (see cases and damages not covered under this warranty).
(3) Products subject to a claim will be evaluated by our Technical Team, trained to perform a detailed and thorough analysis.
(4) If you have any questions regarding our products, we recommend contacting the nearest retailer or reaching out through our customer service channels (listed in this document), where users will receive guidance on how to proceed.
Important 02 – Always request the purchase invoice when buying your tire.
(5) When submitting a claim, always present associated components for inspection, such as: Vehicle, Tire Size, Tire with/without Innertube, Rim/Wheel, and Valve. The absence of these items may hinder the conclusion of the analysis and the preparation of the RARC (Customer Complaint and Analysis Report).
DAMAGE NOT COVERED BY MANUFACTURING WARRANTY
(1) ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE: Damage caused by impacts with obstacles, potholes, or third-party actions.
(2) DAMAGE RESULTING FROM IMPROPER USE: Use not in accordance with Tortuga’s usage and maintenance guidelines.

Examples:

a. Tire and rim conditions: Use in dirty tires, with labels, cuts, tears, or in rims in poor condition.
b. Use of flaps (rim strips): Use of new flaps with thick edges, reused or deteriorated flaps, or improper positioning.
c. Incorrect installation: Misaligned valve, folds or twists in the tube, use of improper tools, or lack of bead lubrication.
d. Improper inflation: Operating under or over recommended pressure, or failure to perform periodic inflation checks with cold tires.
e. Chemical products and lubricants: Contact with oils, greases, solvents, petroleum jelly, or petroleum derivatives that degrade rubber.
f. Incorrect sizing: Use of the tube with tires of sizes different from those specified.
g. Improper storage: Exposure outside original packaging, to sunlight, moisture, or external agents causing cracking and drying.
h. Use in damaged tires: Installation in tires with cuts, tears, or deformations.
i. Lack of maintenance: Failure to periodically check pressure and overall condition of the tire in which the Inner Tube is installed.
Important 03 – The situations described in items (1) and (2) are illustrative. Tortuga reserves the right to classify other conditions as not covered. The warranty is limited to proven manufacturing defects.
